Back by popular demand, the Oxfordshire Academies Business Managers Group (OABMG) is holding its third annual conference on Tuesday 10th March 2020 at the Kassam Stadium in Oxford.
The event has been incredibly popular over the past two years with over 100 delegates each year. This is a not for profit event and we have maintained prices at £65 for non members and £50 for members - representing excellent value for money.
We have secured some excellent speakers again, covering a wide area - which again reflects the remit of the School Business Managers.
Drew Povey was the headteacher of Harrop Fold High School and featured in the Channel 4 documentary series, "Educating Manchester". Drew now works with organisations, individuals and teams to find creative solutions to develop positive climates and sustainable change across all sectors. His unique multi-sector perspective has allowed him to build a variety of tools, methodologies and philosophies to encourage people to higher performance and towards achieving their true potential.
Tanya Arkle of the ESFA is the Deputy Director (South Territory – South West & South East South London) Academies & Maintained Schools Directorate. We are delighted to have her back at the conference given her broad range of knowledge. Tanya has been a Civil Servant for 30 years. Starting her career as a microbiologist, she moved to a policy role to advise and support a number of Central European countries apply to be members of the EU. She had a short spell in China assisting UK companies establish export opportunities and worked in a number of Government Departments before joining the Senior Civil Service in 2008.
Nick Saunders is a motivational speaker and management trainer who has worked with organisations from education and health to major multi national companies. His focus is on getting the most out of people as he believes organisations do not get results - people do.
James Hilton is a professional speaker, trainer and author. He applies his extensive experience of human leadership to inspire a wide range of clients including schools, universities, The NAHT, NHS, local government, universities, and commercial sector clients such as SKY Broadcasting and AstraZeneca. James specialises in resilience, wellbeing, stress management, leadership and positive psychology.
Julia Harden is the ASCL Funding Specialist working with schools, to support them in developing sustainable strategic financial plans and building financial resilience. She represents ASCL in the campaign for sufficient, sustainable and equitable funding for education and belongs to a number of Department for Education (DfE) strategy groups, working alongside colleagues from DfE and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) as well as representatives from the sector.
